Nicholas Laiacona, President

Nick Laiacona founded Performant in 2006 and is the President of the company. He is a software developer, UX designer, and entrepreneur interested in the intersection of digital technologies and text. He is also the lead developer on Juxta Editions. Nick has acted as technical lead on projects funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health. twitter :: github :: email

Jamie Folsom, VP for Development

Jamie Folsom is Vice President for Development at Performant. He is a software developer with experience teaching with and about technology, managing technology projects, and building web services and applications. Before joining Performant, he led development for Hyperstudio, center for the Digital Humanities at MIT, consulting with faculty and building web tools for teaching and research in the humanities, including Annotation Studio and the Comédie Française Registers Project. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in French from Vassar College and a Master’s degree in Technology, Innovation, and Education from Harvard University. twitter :: github :: email

Lorin Jameson, Software Developer

Lorin has 30 years of experience as a software developer as a implementor, manager, and executive. Specializing in online distributed architecures and high throughput, high availability systems he has worked in gaming, education, science, and commerce. Andy Stuhl, Software Developer

Andy Stuhl is a developer interested in leveraging open source and co-design principles to build sustainable, user-friendly web tools for research and teaching. He holds a BA in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University, and he earned a MS in Comparative Media Studies at MIT, where he helped design and develop digital humanities projects as a research assistant in HyperStudio. Steve Marvin, Operations and Testing

Steve spent twenty years in the video game industry doing testing, support, design and project management before coming to Performant, where he handles Operations and Software Testing. He is torn constantly between his inability to suffer fools and his tendency to be one. github :: email

Makoto Kobayashi, Software Development Intern

Makoto decided to intern at Performant after taking a class about Computer Science at the Roxbury Latin School, which he currently attends. Under Jamie’s guidance, he has worked on the Performant website, the Neatline project, and other tasks. github
