How to Create a IIIF Manifest

Use FairData to make a IIIF manifest.

In this video, Performant’s Nick Laiacona demonstrates how to create a IIIF manifest using our open source, online database called FairData. [Please note– FairData is the new name for CoreData, you’ll hear Nick refer to “CoreData” in the video.]

IIIF Manifests are very useful for digital projects involving manuscripts, printed materials, and artwork. By providing metadata about your images, structuring your images into a sequence, and allowing links to annotations, IIIF Manifests open up possibilities for access, annotation, and collaboration. To get access to FairData, go to the Performant Studio page and sign up for a free 30-day trial account. This will give you access to Performant Studio tools, including FairData, FairImage, and FairCopy. FairCopy Editor is free to use for offline projects. Performant Studio lets you collaborate with others using remote projects. You can use your free 30 days to explore the features and see how they work for your data before deciding whether to continue with a paid plan. Once you’ve signed up, we’ll reach out to schedule an onboarding call to get you set up.
